WATERLOO -- The public is invited to a free showing of the first hour of Ely Landau's 1970 documentary film, which chronicles the civil rights activities of Martin Luther King Jr.
The film, "King: A Filmed Record ... Montgomery to Memphis" will be shown at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pleasant and Willow streets, Cedar Falls.
This Library of Congress documentary allows viewers to be first-hand witnesses of King's crusade.
The entire film is 185 minutes.
CEDAR FALLS -- Grant applications can now be submitted to the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa for its Black Hawk County 2018 Spring grant cycle.
The deadline to submit applications is 11:59 p.m. April 1. Grants are awarded to projects in the following areas: art and culture, community betterment, education, environment, health, historic preservation and human service.
The online grant application may be found on CFNEIA’s website at www.cfneia.org. Grants recipients will be announced in June 2018.
First-time grant applicants should contact Tom Wickersham, program director, at 243-1356 prior to submitting an application. Grant applicants must be a 501(c)(3) designated organization (or government entity) serving Black Hawk County in order to be considered for funding.
