CEDAR FALLS — Minor changes to the Arbors subdivision will eliminate a north connection that would’ve acted as a secondary road to extend to Amber Ridge Road.
What would’ve been a 60-foot corridor connection was determined to not be necessary to the plans.
“It was decided that that connection is not needed,” said Cedar Falls Planner 3 David Sturch. “The idea is take that little (street) stub off and put a lot there for development.
The change comes to the fourth of six additions to the area.
Cedar Falls was made aware of the change by Midwest Development Co. and the Planning and Zoning Commission passed the plan Wednesday so it can be forwarded to the City Council.
The land was rezoned in spring 2014 to be a residential area.
“The idea is to get Arbors Drive extended through Viking Road in the south up to the Big Main Hill subdivision,” Sturch said.
