Quota Club

WATERLOO — The Quota Club of Waterloo is taking applications for the annual scholarship program.

Those who are eligible to apply include 1) deaf, hearing- or speech-impaired individuals who plan to pursue post-secondary education or training programs following graduation from high school, and 2) students majoring in communication disorders, speech pathology, audiology or deaf education.

These students must be in their junior year or beyond in their major.

All applicants are asked to respond in an essay format that includes their personal statement of financial need, a description of career goals, awards, honors, involvement in organizations and volunteering in the community.

A transcript and a letter of recommendation from an instructor or supervisor who is familiar with their work also is required.

Scholarships awarded are typically in the $1,000 to $2,000 range.

The deadline for submitting application materials is Feb. 2, with winners announced by mid-April.

CF Community Credit Union

CEDAR FALLS — Cedar Falls Community Credit Union will award two annual educational scholarships.

CFCCU will present $1,000 scholarships to any two credit union members who will be incoming freshmen, returning undergraduates or graduate students.

Applicants are required to prepare an essay of no more than 500 words on what products and services they would offer to members 25 or younger and how they would market those services to that younger audience if they managed a credit union.

Deadline for applications is Feb. 9; winners will be announced in May.
