CEDAR FALLS — Cedar Valley Catholic Schools for the first time has named honorary chairpersons for its Ultimate Auction.

“Every Gift Has a Story” is the theme for the 29th annual event taking place Saturday at the Hilton Garden Inn, 7213 Nordic Drive. Dinner, dancing and live and silent auctions will be part of the evening.

Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres begin at 6 p.m. The auctions and dinner start at 7 p.m. with dancing to follow. The silent auction features around 100 items and bidding is open to the public.

Roger and Barbara Kueter of Cedar Falls will serve as honorary chairpersons for the auction. Roger has served as the lead auctioneer every year since 1989. The couple, whose three children attended St. Patrick’s School and Columbus High School, also served as volunteers in the school system.

The auction’s goal is to benefit all Cedar Valley Catholic Schools’ families by allowing the system to keep tuition and other student expenses in check. The event has raised more than $2.6 million over the years. CVCS includes three elementaries as well as the middle and high schools, all in Waterloo.

Ultimate Auction attendees will be receiving a copy of Monsignor Paul Steimel’s new book of reflections, “Jesus We Adore You, Chapter 4.”

Seating is limited and reservations are required. The cost is $80 per person.

Participants in the silent auction do not need to attend the event. To review and bid on silent auction items, go online to cvcatholic.org/auction.
