WATERLOO — A woman with three passengers in her car was arrested after police say she led them on a chase while drunk Wednesday afternoon.
Shamia Imani Harmon, 20, of 133 St. Albans St., was arrested April 11 and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated and eluding police, a felony.
She was booked into the Black Hawk County Jail and released prior to trial.
Waterloo Police say they attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Harmon’s vehicle in the area of Franklin Street and Oak Avenue because her license plate number came back as having a suspended license.
Police say Harmon failed to stop and led officers on a vehicle pursuit, finally coming to a stop a few blocks away in the area of Sycamore Street and Thompson Avenue.
Her three passengers were not charged.
