WATERLOO -- A Waterloo man was arrested for arson after police say he used an accelerant to set fire to a fence.
Taylor James Gray, 24, of 616 Kern St., was arrested at 2 p.m. Monday when he showed up to meet with his parole officer, according to Waterloo Police Lt. Al Carrier.
He was charged with first-degree arson and remained in the Black Hawk County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Police say witnesses saw Gray setting fire to a fence at 520 Elm St. at 11:19 a.m. July 23. One of those witnesses who knew Gray later reported he was behind the fire to Cedar Valley Crimestoppers.
First-degree arson is a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
Gray was on a five-year probation after pleading guilty to charges involved in the 2014 burglary of a Waterloo church.
