WATERLOO – One person has been detained after allegedly carrying a plastic gun into a fast-food restaurant on Thursday afternoon.

The incident set off a scare at Burger King on Tower Park Drive around 2:45 p.m.

The incident is still under investigation, but police allege 41-year-old Joseph Christopher Lockard entered the restaurant and pointed the toy weapon in the direction of employees. Lockard didn’t make any verbal threats, police said.

Lockard, of 1137 Logan Ave., was arrested for third-degree harassment, a misdemeanor.
