WATERLOO – A teen has been detained for allegedly breaking in to a Waterloo convenience store over the weekend.

Officers were called to an alarm at Prime Mart, 3535 Marigold Drive, at about 4:25 a.m. on Sunday. Police said someone broke the front door glass and took liquor and cigarettes.

A 17-year-old male was detained on a charge of third-degree burglary, and he was later released to his parents, police said.

This is the second time this month that Prime Mart was the target of a burglary. On Nov. 13, police found someone had taken lottery tickets from the store while it was closed. The door was discovered open, according to the police report.
