WAUKON – A Dorchester man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a Waukon convenience store after leaving jail following a theft arrest.

Mikeal Alex Kountkofsky, 36, was arrested for first-degree robbery and assault while displaying a weapon. He was taken to the Allamakee County Jail.

According to police, officers received a report of a hold up at the Huba Huba convenience store on Thursday, and officers searched a Waukon home and arrested Kountkofsky.

According to police and court records, the robbery came the same day that Kountkofsky was released from jail after being arrested for shoplifting and marijuana possession on Wednesday. In that case, Kountkofsky allegedly took marshmallows, T-shirts and underwear from Dollar General on 11th Avenue. Police investigating the theft found two bags of marijuana and a broken glass pipe.
