WATERLOO – Police have recovered a pistol that they believe was used in an Oct. 21 attack at the Fusion Bar.

A resident on Mitchell Avenue discovered a handgun in the bushes while doing yard work over the weekend, said Capt. David Mohlis with the Waterloo Police Department.

He said the weapon will undergo tests to see if it can be linked to an incident where a Waterloo man allegedly threatened people in the bar and beat and tried to shoot a patron. The gun failed to fire, police said.

The suspect, Rasim Husidic, 39, allegedly left the bar on Bourland Avenue and was arrested more than a mile away at an acquaintance’s house on Grant Avenue. Police believe he hid the gun somewhere between the two locations.

Husidic was arrested for intimidation with a weapon, going armed, willful injury causing bodily injury and felon in possession of a firearm.
