CEDAR FALLS – A Cedar Falls man who is awaiting trial for allegedly macing jewelry store workers during a Jan. 22 holdup has now been charged in another robbery.
Cedar Falls police said Carlos Alejandro Roig Gonzalez, 33, was behind the Dec. 26 robbery at Dollar Tree on Brandilynn Boulevard. In that robbery, he allegedly displayed a knife and pepper spray as he did in the Jan. 22 robbery at Kay Jewelers on Viking Road.
CEDAR FALLS — Police have arrested a man in connection with a Jan. 22 robbery at Kay Jewelers, 306 E. Viking Road.
Roig Gonzalez is now charged with second-degree robbery in the Dollar Tree crime. He remains in the Black Hawk County Jail with bond set at $125,000.
Police said another robbery, this one at Sally Beauty Supply in Waterloo, on Dec. 26, used the same tactic as the Dollar Tree heist.
