RAYMOND – An Aurora man has been arrested following a high-speed chase in a stolen truck that ended near Raymond on Tuesday afternoon.

Brandon Avery Samuel Proctor, 36, was arrested for felony eluding and first-degree theft after he left the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado and ran off on foot. His bond was set at $15,000.

Details weren’t available, but a Black Hawk County sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over the truck around 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 6600 block of Dubuque Road. The truck was headed east and turned north on Lafayette Street, and speeds reached as high as 80 mph in a 35-mph zone, according to court records.

The chase passed through fields before eventually coming to an end behind a house in the 400 block of Raymond Road.

The truck had been reported stolen from E.C. Concrete and Masonry of Dysart on Monday, authorities said.

This isn’t the first time Proctor has been involved in a chase through rural Black Hawk County. In November 2016, he was a backseat passenger in a stolen pickup truck that fled when University of Northern Iowa police attempted to stop it while investigating a bicycle theft. That pursuit tore through farm fields and ended when the truck landed in a creek northwest of Cedar Falls.
