CHARLES CITY – Two Charles City men have been arrested for allegedly breaking into an apartment and assaulting people inside in February.
Dontrale Jovan Gaston, 28, also known as Floyd Gaston, was arrested Thursday on warrants for first-degree burglary and fourth- and fifth-degree theft. Bond was initially set at $25,000.
Isaac Charles Brown, 29, was arrested for first-degree burglary in February.
Brown and Gaston allegedly entered a home at 405 Richings St. around 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 17, and Brown began arguing with an ex-girlfriend, according to court records. Lentenze Farris attempted to intervene, and Brown struck him with a space heater and a corona beer bottle, record state. Harris suffered a injuries to his hands and head.
Gaston was also arrested for a Jan. 30 incident where he allegedly took a pack of Newport cigarettes from Hy-Vee supermarket and a Jan. 28 incident where he allegedly took an iPhone at the Family YMCA and sold it to another person for $45.
