CEDAR FALLS | An Evansdale man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a Cedar Falls home and attacking his wife and a man inside.

The assault was witnessed by children, according to court records.

Jason Jess Harper, 36, of 1637 Michigan Drive, was arrested Monday for first-degree burglary, child endangerment, assault causing bodily injury and domestic assault at 5522 Peridot Road, Lot 53, about 6:50 a.m. His bond was set at $28,500.

Children were sleeping in the living room, and they awoke and were frightened by the assault, court records state.

Evansdale police later found Harper and detained him, records state.
