WATERLOO — East High’s IJAG students will host a chili supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at 214 High St. in the East commons area.
There will be all-you-can-eat chili, as well as peanut butter sandwiches, corn bread muffins, salad, beverage and hot dogs for kids.
Cost is $5 for adults, or $2 for kids 10 and younger.
JESUP — The members of Grace Lutheran Church, 633 Purdy St., Jesup, will host the annual soup supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
A variety of soups, sandwiches, relishes, desserts and drinks will be served for a donation. Proceeds will support a local family in need. All are invited and welcome to attend.

CEDAR FALLS — Lisa Speicher Munoz, associate professor of sociology at Hawkeye Community College, will speak at the AAUW Brunch on Feb. 24 at the Cedar Falls Woman’s Club, Third and Clay streets.
She will speak about the current state of immigration issues and discuss trends and possibilities for the future.
The gathering starts at 10 a.m., with the brunch at 10:15 a.m. The menu includes spinach quiche, fruit cup, coffee cake, juice, coffee or tea for $13.

Lions Club sale
set for Saturday
WAVERLY — The Waverly Lions Club will have the annual frozen food sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Waverly Civic Center.
Frozen pies, soups, cookie dough and cheesecake can be purchased.

CEDAR FALLS — The Northeast Iowa Genealogical Society will welcome people to a meeting at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cedar Falls Public Library.
Carson Ode, author of pictoral books of Iowa, will speak on the wonders to be found here.
People are welcome to come for a meeting and then asked to join. Cost is $15 for a single and $25 for a family membership.
