WATERLOO — American Legion Post 138 at 728 Commercial St. has several events planned.

Today bingo is planned for at 6:15 and 7 p.m. Hotdogs, grilled tenderloins and pork chops are planned at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The kitchen will be open 11 a.m. Friday. A spring fundraiser party is set for 5 to 11 p.m., with a pulled pork meal. A POW/MIA ceremony will start at 6 p.m., followed by music with Vinyl Frontier from 7 to 11 p.m.

A pepper tournament will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, and bingo is set for 1:15 and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Moose Lodge plans events

WASHBURN — The Moose Lodge will serve all-you-can eat fish from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.

A bag tournament starts at 6 p.m. Saturday.

On Sunday, breakfast is set for 9 a.m. to noon.

Tacos are on the menu from 5 to 7 p.m. April 24, with supper by Sharon and Nancy from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 25, and hot ham and cheese April 26.

Blood drive

TAMA — A community blood drive for Tama and Toledo is set for 2 to 6 p.m. April 24 at Tama Civic Center, 305 Siegel.

Wilder Park opens Thursday

ALLISON — Wilder Park will open Thursday for camping and picnicking.

There will be free camping April 27 and 28.

Wilder Park has 78 camp sites — 46 with “full hook-ups” and eight tent sites. Amenities include foot golf, 9-hole miniature golf, a giant chess/checker board, three shelters, 18 holes disc golf, pickle ball, a walking/bike trail, two fishing ponds, severe storm shelters, dump station, Wi-Fi , sand volleyball, playground, wild flower prairies, bike repair station and a chapel.

Two newer rental cabins will be available in addition to the lodge. For reservations, call Allison City Hall, 267-2245.
