WATERLOO — The Sullivan Brothers VFW Post 1623, 1406 Commercial St., will have free pool day Wednesday.
Bingo is set for Thursday, and there will be karaoke with Dave Bovis from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday.
For St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, there will be mince and tatties, mulligan stew and Guinness cupcakes. Entertainment will include “Best Legs in a Kilt” contest. On Sunday, there’s a pepper tournament with snacks from 2 to 4 p.m.
NEW HARTFORD — The New Hartford American Legion and the Beaver Creek Bar and Grille will host a Rocky Mountain oyster feed at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The restaurant is located at 422 Packwaukee St., and donations will be accepted.
Dance will be
WAVERLY — The Waverly Dairy Spot Trail Riders Pony Express will host a dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Watering Hole (formerly the Center Inn.)
Live music will be provided by Wichita, with $5 admission.
Some of the proceeds will go to Pony Express of Iowa’s Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines for disabled children and adults.
WATERLOO — The Cedar Valley Roller Derby Push-Up Brawlers will have their second bout of the season at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center for a “Magical Mixer” featuring skaters from across eastern Iowa.
Players will be split up into two teams for this friendly competition, pitting leprechauns against unicorns. People are encouraged to dress in green or white to show support.
The Brawlers had a 242-126 home opener win over the River City Dames of Anarchy of Mason City.
Tickets are available in advance at Mohair Pear, Waterloo Bicycle Works, Cedar Valley Chiropractic, or from a player. They are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
