CEDAR FALLS — The National Weather Service early Monday issued a flood warning for the Cedar River.
The warning is expected to remain in effect until Saturday evening.
The flood warning for the Cedar is at Cedar Falls from the West Fork Cedar River to the Cedar Falls-Waterloo city limits.
At 3 a.m. Monday, the river stage was at 87.8 feet, or .2 feet below flood stage. Flood stage is 88 feet.
No flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
The NWS said the river is expected to rise to flood stage Monday, continue rising to 90.5 feet — or 2.5 feet above flood stage — this morning. Then it should begin falling and go below flood stage Saturday evening.
The impact at 90.3 feet is the water will cover Riverside Drive south of Beech Street in Cedar Falls.
