CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Cedar Falls police are investigating a shooting at a convenience store on Hudson Road Monday night.

Police said they were called shortly after 11 p.m. to B & B West, at 3105 Hudson Road, on a report of a person who had accidentally shot himself.

When officers arrived they met with the victim, who stated that he had shot himself in the hand when removing a handgun from his pants.

The victim, Jeffrey Fox, 22, who was an employee of the store, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He has since been transported to University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Police said the injury to his hand was not life-threatening, but it caused a serious injury.

Police said they do not know where Fox lives. His driver's license had a Waterloo address, but they were not certain it was current.

The incident remains under investigation, but police said the evidence points to the incident being an accidental shooting.

There were no customers in the store.

I am not sure what you meant with your comment about the stores location? It appeared to be a jab at Waterloo. Trust me Cedar Falls needs Waterloo or Waterloo's $$$ more then some on here could ever imagine. I agree with your comment about what the Courier allows on these blogs.

It's interesting what comments get allowed and what ones are censored. I am a staunch Second Amendment supporter, and it is interesting that you assume otherwise. It is incidents like this, where someone clearly unqualified to safely handle a weapon that harms the Second Amendment most.

IF he had a concealed carry permit, he didnt break any laws. as far as employement policy is concerned, dont ask dont tell. its better to be tried by 12 then carried out by six. But i know you leftists prefer to extohl the virtues of victimization.....see you on Oprah someday.

Where did Jeffrey Fox live? What is the stores policy on armed employees? Why did a convenience store so far from Waterloo feel the need to be armed?
