    I agree with mother3 they should have paid to bring the trainers to UIHC. At least then they could have dealt with specific issues that the those staff members really need to work on. Thats a lot of money to spend for 2.5 days of training. Ever heard over web cast?

    They most certainly need to learn customer service at this state owned facility, as do every other state run agency except the Driver's License stations. Perhaps it might be cheaper to bring the trainers from Disney to Iowa City and points around the state to educate these clods in the appropriate way to treat the customers. I don't think they ever once knew who was buttering their bread to begin with.
    I refuse to allow my family members to be treated at UIHC and if others ask for my advice, I do the same.

    Professionals need to travel for professional development. They have no choice where these seminars/conferences are held, but need to go anyway. I'll bet that if they went to a conference in, say, Montana that was double the price, Grassley wouldn't even comment.

    This is political grandstanding at its worst.
