Robert “Bob” Jaquith

WATERLOO -- Robert Laverne “Bob” Jaquith, 76, of Waterloo, died Monday, Jan. 29, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

He was born Jan. 3, 1942, in Waterloo, son of Harold and Laverna Jaquith. He married Carol Creighton Macheak in November 1972 in Waterloo.

Bob was a graduate of Waterloo East High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at John Deere & Co. in Waterloo for 33 years, retiring in 1999 as a parts coordinator. Bob was a longtime member of Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Tony Macheak of Indianapolis and Darren Macheak of Waterloo; a brother, James “Jim” (Kitty) of Evansdale; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: his parents; and a son, Michael.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, and for an hour before services Tuesday, both at the funeral home.

Memorials in lieu of flowers: may be directed to Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.
