REINBECK -- Richard Lloyd “Dick” Ohrt, 92, of Reinbeck, died Friday, Nov. 10, at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Reinbeck.
He was born March 21, 1925, on the home farm southwest of Reinbeck, son of Lloyd and Dorothy Strohbehn Ohrt. On Sept. 2, 1948, he married Margaret L. Johnson at Fredsville Lutheran Church in rural Dike.
He graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1942. He attended Iowa State College (now ISU) where he completed the winter farm operations program. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Dick was active in farming his whole life. He was a member of the Union Congregational United Church of Christ, where he was active on many church committees and boards. His memberships also included the American Legion Post 242, Masonic Temple Coin Lodge 394, Oak Leaf Country Club, all of Reinbeck, and the El Kahir Shrine of Cedar Rapids. He also served on the school board for the Reinbeck Public Schools.
Survived by: his wife; two sons, Philip (Janice) and Brad (Lynn Pedersen), both of Reinbeck; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Ohrt of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Randall; and a great-grandson, Ian Felton.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Union Congregational United Church of Christ, Reinbeck, with burial in Reinbeck Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the American Legion Post 242 of Reinbeck. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Nov. 12, at French-Hand Funeral Home, Reinbeck, with a masonic service at 7 p.m.
Memorials: may be directed to Union Congregational Church of Christ or the family for further designation in memory of Dick.

Dick enjoyed square dancing, card club, golfing, hunting, fishing and caring and tending for his livestock.
