JESUP — Paul Andrew Peterson, 83, of Jesup, died Saturday, Dec. 2, at UnityPoint – St. Luke’s Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.
He was born Sept. 2, 1934, in Jesup, son of Clarence Chris Peterson and Alta Leone Miles Peterson. On Aug. 19, 1953, he married Betty Ann Luloff at Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee, rural La Porte City. She preceded him in death.
He graduated from Jesup High School in 1952. Paul and his wife ran the Peterson Hardware Store in Jesup. He was a member of the Jesup Volunteer Fire Department, the former secretary and treasurer of the Cedar Crest Cemetery Association, and a member of Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee.
Survived by: a daughter, Marilyn (Craig) Frush of Jesup; a son, David (Jody) of Jesup; four grandchildren, Chad (Staci) Frush of Elk Run Heights, Sarah (Brian) Larson of Jesup, Matthew (Alicia) Peterson of Hudson, and Meghan (Justin) Birdnow of McGregor; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: his parents; and a sister, Helen Marie Dewey.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee, rural La Porte City, with burial in Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
