FREDERICKSBURG — Mary Lou Kellogg, 85, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Oct. 9, at Linn Haven Rehab and Healthcare in New Hampton.
She was born July 3, 1932, in rural Westgate, daughter of Alvin and Bernice Zubrod Dietrich. She married Chuck Kellogg on Sept. 17, 1988, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton.
She graduated from West Central Maynard in 1950. Mary Lou started working at Rath Packing Co. in the administration building for several years. She worked more than 29 years at Beatrice, Mienerz and Con Agra in Fredericksburg as a lab technician, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Eastern Star and the McDonald’s Coffee Club.
Survived by: her husband; four daughters, Christie Shever, Lynn (Duane) Wilkens, Susie (Anon) Anderson and Theresa (Tim Byrnes) Chipera; two stepsons, Tim Kellogg and Ross (Lori) Kellogg; two stepdaughters, Sherry (Everette) Mahler and Shannon Kellogg; and 19 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: her parents; and a son-in-law, Ray Shever.
Services: 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton, with a private family burial at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 12, at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
Mary Lou enjoyed being a seamstress, watching cardinals in her backyard, collecting rocking horses, gardening and tending to her flowers. She loved to be in the kitchen baking and cooking. Mary Lou and Chuck loved to go on drives all over the country in their “Buick.” She also cherished the time spent with her family.
