WATERLOO — Marlon D. Mister, 62, of Waterloo, died Friday, Jan. 26, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes.
He was born May 27, 1955, in Waterloo, son of Lewis Mallett and Lola D. Mister. He married Joan Weathers on May 29, 1999, in Waterloo.
Marlon was a 1973 graduate of East High School. He received a wrestling scholarship and attended NIACC in Mason City. He was formerly employed at Premier Casting and O’Neil Steel in Waterloo and worked temporary jobs until he became disabled.
Survived by: his wife; five daughters, Comanechi Mister, Marlonya, Martina, Renee and Lakita; three sons, Marcus, Bryron and Delroy; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Georgine Myles and Deborah (the Rev. Tony) Campbell; three brothers, Larry of Copperas Cove, Texas, Ausery (Rachel) Washington of San Antonio and Lewis (Linda) Mallett of Milwaukee; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Chauncey Mallett; a special uncle, Bobby; and his grandfather, George Willie.
Memorial services: 3 p.m. today, Feb. 4, at Koinonia Ministries Full Gospel Baptist Church, 222 Falls Ave. Friends may call for an hour before services at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is assisting the family.
