WATERLOO — Lorrinda “Squeak” Ackerman, 61, of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, Dec. 3.
She was born Feb. 9, 1956, in Waterloo, daughter of Donald Sr. and Lauretta Halverson Renslow. She married Eugene Schroeder in 1976; they were later divorced. She married Dave Ackerman on Aug. 28, 1993. He died in 2013.
She graduated from Central High School in 1974 and attended Hawkeye Community College, where she studied phlebotomy and later went back to study accounting.
Survived by: her mother; a son, Steven (Andrea) Schroeder of Waterloo; two daughters, Gena (André) Schroeder of Waterloo and Kari (José) Amador of Waterloo; two brothers, Donald Renslow, Jr. of Waterloo and Michael Renslow of Waterloo; a sister, Linda Renslow of Waterloo; six grandchildren, Alexander (Ashley), Jacob, Alyssa, Xavier, Skyler and Isabella; a great-grandchild, Axtin; many nieces and nephews; and her cat, Truman, and basset, Chumlee.
Preceded in death by: her father; a son, Scott Schroeder; and her basset, Wishbone.
Celebration of Life: from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with a time of sharing/remembrance beginning at 1:30 p.m.

She was a very funny woman who was the life of the party. Squeak was smart and wise beyond her years. She was a leader and the consummate caretaker. Squeak loved to decorate for all holidays, but most of all, she spoiled her grandkids greatly. Squeak loved skunks and had a skunk costume, which she wore every year for Halloween. She was an amazing person!
