WELLSBURG -- Kenneth A. Tack, 90, of Wellsburg, died Wednesday, Feb, 26, in Grundy Center.
He was born Nov. 17, 1923, in rural Wellsburg, son of Richard and Etta Lindeman Tack. He married Beulah Mae VanHauen on June 10, 1952, at the Women’s Club House, Cedar Falls.
Kenneth graduated from eighth grade at German Number 6, a one-room country school, in 1937. He graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1941. He and his wife farmed the "home-place," which became a Century Farm in 1982.
Survived by: his wife; a son, Kendall (Maria) of Wellsburg; a daughter, Kayleene (Andrew) Tack Roberts of Columbia, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Remington Tack of Wellsburg and Kenneth and Anna Roberts of Columbia.
Preceded in death by: his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harvey and Margret Tack, Melvin and Janet Tack and Richard (Dale) and Laverne Tack; and a brother, Lawrence.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hitesville Gospel Hall, rural Aplington, with burial in St. Peter's Cemetery, rural Wellsburg. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Chapel, Aplington, and an hour before services Monday at the hall.
