CEDAR FALLS — Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Coil, 94, died Monday, Oct. 9, at Windhaven Assisted Living Center in Cedar Falls.
She was born Nov. 3, 1922, in Knox City, Mo., daughter of Waldorf L. and Thelma Clauson Eyman. She married James “Jim” Coil on Sept. 2, 1946. He preceded her in death.
After graduating from high school, Libby went to Stephens College for Women before finishing her B.A. degree in music at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo. She first went to Washington, D.C., to work before taking a teaching position in Big Springs, Mo. Libby then taught music and fourth grade in the West Des Moines School System for many years. She sang in the choir of West Des Moines Christian Church as well as leading their bell choir for several years. She was a member of two music clubs, Clef and Drama and Treble Clef.
Survived by: her children, Sharon (Bill) Franklin and David (Joyce) Coil; a brother, Bill (Rosalyn) Eyman; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: her parents; and a brother, Wally Eyman.
Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at West Des Moines Christian Church, with visitation from 10 a.m. until services at the church. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Libby loved music and was also a voracious reader and belonged to several book clubs. She also loved to cook and entertain friends and family, especially at holiday gatherings.
