HAZLETON — Dennis F. “Wolfman” McLane, 65, of Hazleton, died Sunday, Oct. 8, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.
He was born March 3, 1952, in Waterloo, son of Perry N. and Ruth N. Stearns McLane.
On Sept. 22, 1975, he married Carol L. Harriman at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics Chapel in Iowa City.
He was a 1971 graduate of Jefferson High School, Independence. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1971 to 1974.
Dennis worked for many years in the meat packing industry and worked for Iowa Ham and Tyson’s for many years.
Survived by: his wife; three children, Meridith McLane of Hazleton, Dennis McLane of Oelwein and Heather (Guadalupe) Becerra of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren, Seth McLane, Brandon Van Note, Haillee Van Note, Xzavier McLane, Gracie Gage, Lillyan Frye, Laura McLane, Luke McLane, Anthony McLane, Natasha McLane and Tristan Becerra; a great-grandson, Seth McLane; a brother, Fred; and a sister, Sharon Van Zant.
Preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Doris Stacy; and a half-brother, Arvin Cone.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, and from 9 a.m. until services Friday at the funeral home.

Dennis loved to use his hands and spent his free time working on cars. He enjoyed going to concerts with his wife and spending time with his friends and family.
