WATERLOO — David P. Wilson, 84, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Nov. 30, at ManorCare Health Services following a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 13, 1933, in Eldora, son of Clyde and Vera Dawson Wilson. He married Mary Robinson on April 10, 1955, in Eldora; she died in 1989.
David was a graduate of Eldora High School and received his bachelor’s degree in music from Iowa State Teachers College. He worked as a housing inspector for the city of Waterloo, retiring after 30 years. He was an avid musician all his life and played the saxophone in several bands over the years.
Survived by: five children, Merry Cunningham of Des Moines, Peter (Lisa) Mueller of Ankeny, Otto Mueller of Waterloo, Stacey (Tami) Wilson of Elk Run Heights and Jim (Jody) Wilson of Evansdale; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Anne (John) Brownstone of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and a special friend, Cathy Bullen of Evansdale.
Preceded in death by: his parents; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Mueller; and a granddaughter.
Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel. Family will receive friends for an hour before the service.
