CEDAR FALLS — Dana Jean Ainsworth, 87, of Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly, died there Tuesday, Feb. 6, from complications of Lewy Body disease.
She was born Aug. 4, 1930, in Gladbrook, daughter of William and Edna Adkinson Rowden. She married Jack Ainsworth on Jan. 26, 1952. He preceded her in death in 2012.
Dana was a graduate of Gladbrook High School and worked as a nurse at Sartori Hospital for many years.
She was an member at the First Church of the Nazarene in Cedar Falls where she played the organ and taught Sunday School.
Survived by: six children, Jaci (Bill) Hunt of Waterloo, Sue (Dean) Miller of Waverly, Ray (Karla) Ainsworth of Independence, Jill (Tom) Murphy of Cedar Falls, Mary (John) Syndergaard of Waterloo and Dana Jo (Rex) Davis of Traer; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; two brothers, Ray, and her twin brother, David; and sister, Dorothy.
Private family service: is planned, with burial at Hillside Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo.

Dana loved her family and Jesus. She passed on her love of music and art to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a sweet spirit with a strong faith, even when her disease took from her all things she found joy in: painting, sewing, reading her Bible and playing piano.
