READLYN -- Chad Ayrlan Erickson, 53, of Phoenix, formerly of Readlyn, died suddenly Thursday, Feb. 1, while out on a run.
He was born Oct. 19, 1964, in Oxnard, Calif., son of Bonnie and Alan Erickson. He married Jennifer Woods after their junior year of college.
Chad graduated from Wapsie Valley High School in 1983, then the University of Iowa in 1987. Chad worked in Madison, Wis., then Chanhassen, Minn., before moving to Arizona and spent most of his professional career in the consumer packaged goods industry, working and earning awards from P&G, Clorox and others.
Survived by: his children, Paige and Brett; his parents, Alan and Bonnie; two brothers and their families, Ryan (Nicole) Mildred and Arlin Erickson; Ross (Rhonda) Hannah and Sam Lackner, Eli, Abby and Grace Erickson; former in-laws Marion and Pat Woods, Jennifer Woods Japinga, Russell and Natalie Nieman, Mike and Nicole Woods; and nieces and nephews , Derek, Connor and Nina Woods, and Sam and Claire Nieman.
Services: Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, Scottsdale, Ariz., is assisting the family.

Chad was the happiest person at every event and never had a bad word to say, which is why so many were touched by his life. His love of family, sports, movies and popcorn and all the stories will be the tales we tell for the rest of our lives. Though Chad was the light of the party, his children and family were the light of his life.
