APLINGTON -- Alvin H. Bulten, 81, of Aplington, died Friday, Jan. 17, at Maple Manor Village, Aplington, of natural causes.
He was born June 22, 1932, in Grundy County near Aplington, son of Harm and Nettie Meyer Bulten.
He graduated from high school in Aplington in 1951 and had worked as a carpenter for a number of years. He attended Gates Business College, Waterloo, and then worked as a cost analysis at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 1987. He then worked part time delivery for Home Interiors, Aplington. He was a member of First Reformed Church, Aplington.
Survived by: a brother, James (Clarice) of Callao, Mo.
Preceded in death by: his parents.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Reformed Church, with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, both in Aplington. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the church. Redman-Schwartz Funeral Chapel, Aplington, is in charge of the arrangements.
