CEDAR FALLS -- Kate Glynn Kathryn Worthington and William "Billy" Robert Pugh were married Saturday, May 20, at Kent Chapel near Brooklyn, Iowa.
Parents of the couple are Wayne and Glynis Worthington of Cedar Falls and William and Paula Pugh of Salem, Ore.
Kate is the granddaughter of Stan and Linda Worthington of Waterloo and Dr. Larry (deceased) and Jan Houser of Centerville.
Maid of honor was Elizabeth "Lizzy/Edie" Worthington, sister of the bride. The groom was attended by his brothers, Micah Pugh and Anthony Pugh of Salem.
The organ processional was played by John "Jack" Worthington of West Point, N.Y., the bride’s brother. Prayers were said by Wayne Worthington Jr. of Snead’s Ferry, North Carolina, also brother of the bride, and by Pastor Dorothy Banzhaf of Kent Chapel.
The couple was married by William Pugh, father of the groom and pastor. The ceremony was followed by a dinner and dance at the bride's family home at Holiday Lake.
Billy is a graduate of Little Rock Christian Academy in Arkansas and the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. Kate is a graduate of Waterloo West High School and Coe College.
The bride is a second lieutenant nurse at Kessler AFB in Biloxi, Miss., and the groom is a second lieutenant cyber defense at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, Okla.
They hope to be based at Tinker following the groom’s deployment and will honeymoon hiking the Inca Trail in Peru in 2018.
