Thank You from the Cedar Bend Humane Society animals

WATERLOO — Volunteers and supporters of the Cedar Bend Humane Society celebrated on Nov. 9 at the “Help Us Help Them” fundraiser at the Hilton Garden Inn in Cedar Falls.

Close to 500 community supporters were in attendance. Master of ceremonies was KWWL news anchor Abby Turpin.

Bruce Earnest, ASPCA representative, shared information on the importance of ASPCA’s partnership with Cedar Bend Humane Society.

Dr. Kent Melick D.V.M. addressed the importance of the CBHS in-house spay and neuter program. Sue Martin, community member, shared her experience with neighborhood cat colonies and the support she received.

Joanne Koweil, CBHS board president, shared the CBHS’s vision for the coming year. Co-director Karla Beckman shared the history of the group.

Co-director Kristy Gardner introduced visiting CBHS furry friends.

More than $60,000 was raised to benefit the homeless animals.

The Cedar Bend Humane Society would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the community. Your support is life-saving.
