Happy 50th Anniversary, Butch and Colleen Hunter!
Leonard “Butch” and Colleen Hickey Hunter are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1:30 to 4 p.m. next Sunday, Feb. 18, at Rivers Edge, 206 Second Ave. SW, Independence.
They were married Feb. 10, 1968, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence.
Butch owns and operates Hunter Auto Sales and Lens Wrecker Service. Colleen recently retired from fulltime at Kidsville in Independence but is still actively involved in substituting at the Independence Community Schools.
Hosting the event will be their children, Ray and Gail Hunter and Tammy and Rusty Heidemann, all of Independence, and John and Kristan Hunter of North Liberty. They also have 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
No invitations are being sent, and no gifts are requested.
