ERICA MOORE has been promoted at Courier Communications to circulation operations manager. She started with The Courier in 2010 as a mailroom worker and then transitioned to delivery assistant. In 2010 she was moved into a district management position and shortly after promoted to senior district sales manager. She most recently was the city home delivery manager.
ELIZABETH ACKERSON, ARNP of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-Iowa, will work at Convenient Care locations in Waterloo and Cedar Falls and in Covenant Clinic’s family medicine clinic at Arrowhead Medical Center in Cedar Falls. Ackerson, of Cedar Falls, received her medical degrees from Allen College in Waterloo, earning a master of science in nursing-family practice in 2016, and a bachelor of science in nursing in 2014. She has worked as a registered nurse in the Cedar Valley since 2010, and most recently worked as a nurse practitioner in Covenant Medical Center’s Emergency Department.
STEPHANIE ASK has joined The Samuels Group as a project administrator and will be based out of the Des Moines office. She has a bachelor of science degree in psychology and a certificate in construction management from Ashworth College.
RICK KLANN and MAUREEN BUSTA, both retired professors from Upper Iowa University, have been granted emeriti status by the school’s board of trustees. Klann, Delano professor of science, was employed with the university for 28 years, and Busta, professor of mathematics, was employed for 22 years.

VGM Group’s Homelink division has hired three new associates. JULIA BLATTNER is a patient care coordinator. She graduated from Agnes Scott College and previously was with Enterprise Holdings. KELLY CAMPBELL is an intake patient care coordinator. She previously was with Admiral Security and is a graduate of National College. CHRISTOPHER CHRIS is also a patient care coordinator. He has his MBA from Kaplan University and previously was with Ocwen Financial.
BRYON SIMMONS has joined the Kryton team as director of quality control. He previously worked at OshKosh Defense and John Deere.
LT. NATALIE AUSTIN has joined The Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls. Lt. Austin has a master’s of social work from St. Louis University and a bachelor or arts degree in ethnic studies from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minn. She has been with The Salvation Army for nearly 10 years serving in many roles from day camp teacher to youth outreach director.
