RACHELLE KIRSCHMAN has recently transferred to the portfolio department at TCF Equipment Finance as a portfolio servicing analyst. She has been with TCF since 1999 and previously worked in TCFEF’s Accounting Operations Department as a senior accounting operations specialist.
ROB CHAGDES is the NextGen pastor at Prairie Lakes Church- Cedar Falls campus. Chagdes has a bachelor of arts degree in biblical studies from Judson University in Elgin, Ill., and post-graduate studies at Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago. He previously was the NextGen pastor at Eagle Church, Whitestown, Ind.
VANESSA EBLING has joined Prairie Lakes Church- Cedar Falls campus as a receptionist. She has a bachelor of arts degree in English and a teacher certificate from the University of Northern Iowa, is an English teacher at Valley Lutheran School in Cedar Falls and administrative assistant for Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Waterloo.
MICHELLE POWERS has joined Prairie Lakes Church- Cedar Falls campus as college ministry coordinator. She is attending the University of Northern Iowa majoring in elementary ed and will graduate in the fall of 2018. Powers is currently the temporary student ministry administrative assistant at Prairie Lakes Church. She previously served as College Ministry Spiritual Direction intern and College Ministry Project Management intern, both at Prairie Lakes Church.
NEIL G. McMAHON, MD, FACS, Covenant Clinic breast surgeon, recently became recertified in breast ultrasound through the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
TROY LUCK has been promoted to battalion chief on Waterloo Fire Rescue B shift. Luck was hired Aug. 26, 2002. He has served the department as a paramedic, fire engineer, fire inspector and has been a lieutenant since 2010. He is also a member of the HazMat team and has participated in the Honor Guard.
KENDRA ELWOOD, MD, joined Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-Iowa at Covenant Clinic Pediatrics, Waterloo. Dr. Elwood received her medical degree from the University of Iowa in 2013 and completed her residency in pediatric and adolescent medicine at Mayo Clinic in 2016. Elwood, a native of Jesup, was recently chief resident in pediatric and adolescent medicine at Mayo Clinic which was completed in June.
DIANE DERIFIELD rejoined First Community Trust, N.A. as vice president and trust officer. Derifield most recently was executive director of Cedar Valley’s Promise for the past nine years. She previously worked with FCT from 2001-2006 as vice president and trust officer. Her experience includes 14 years as a trust officer with a major regional bank prior to joining FCT in 2001. Derifield will be located in the Dupaco Community Credit Union Mullan Avenue branch.
SAROJINI VELAMASETTI, MD, joined Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-Iowa at Covenant Clinic Family Medicine at Arrowhead Medical Center, Cedar Falls. Dr. Velamasetti, of Cedar Falls, received her medical degree from Andhra Medical College, NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh, India, in 1997. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Andhra Medical College in 2002 and completed a residency in family medicine at Northeast Iowa Medical Education Foundation this summer.
ANNALIESE OTT has been promoted at Veridian Credit Union to Learning & Development Specialist. Ott, a resident of Readlyn, has worked at Veridian for eight years. She previously was a member relations officer. She has a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Northern Iowa.
VGM Group Inc. welcomes four new associates. BRET HANKS joined VGM Insurance as the orthotics and prosthetics program manager. He is a graduate of Central College and previously was at Peoples Insurance Agency. CHARISSA WRIGHT is a nurse-billing analyst with Homelink. She is a student at Upper Iowa University and was employed with NEI3A. KELSEY McGARVEY is a patient care coordinator for VGM’s Homelink division. She is a University of Iowa graduate and previously was at Veridian Credit Union. SHANNON JOHNSON also joins the team at Homelink. She is a workers’ compensation patient care coordinator and previously was at Lane Bryant.

TYLER SMITH has been named regional manager for Wyffels Hybrids and will work with corn growers in northeastern Iowa. Smith joins the company, after spending 14 years in the Grain Marketing Services sector at Cargill. Most recently, Smith managed a team of 10-13 sales people, calling on farmers in Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Nebraska.
BOBBIE TJADEN, KAYLEE BAISH and LAUREN PETERMAN have joined PDCM Insurance. Tjaden, a receptionist, previously worked at another local insurance agency for 15 years. Baish is a personal lines service manager. She graduated with an associate’s degree in animal science from Hawkeye Community College, and she recently became licensed in personal and commercial lines. Peterman is an HR specialist. She began her time with PDCM in 2016 as a student intern in HRConnect, PDCM’s HR consulting division. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and a minor in business communication from the University of Northern Iowa in May.
