BARB ANDERSON joined VGM Group Management as controller. Anderson, a graduate of Luther College with a master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa, was formerly employed by The Courier. BOBBY AYERS joined VGM Insurance Services as an assistant underwriter. A graduate of Waldorf University, Ayers was employed by Farm Bureau Financial Services. MARIA RICO and PAIGE FROST joined VGM’s Homelink division. Rico is a translation patient care coordinator and was employed by Omega Cabinetry. Frost, formerly with Veridian Credit Union, is a work comp patient care coordinator. 

TRACEY SOUTHALL joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa as the special events director. She was with Main Street Waterloo and has more than 10 years of event planning experience. 

MARK PLATTE was named vice president at State Bank, Waverly, and remains a trust officer for the bank's eight locations in Northeast Iowa. He will continue to manage customer's assets in the trust department and oversees the bank's wealth management team, including Brokerage Services at the South 218 office in Waverly. ANGELINA DIETZ was named a trust officer for the bank's eight locations. She has been with the bank for nearly three years, previously serving as financial adviser in the investment center as well as trust operations coordinator. CHERI WHEELAN was named vice president and remains the bank's operations officer for their eight locations. Wheelan will continue to oversee the bank's operations team at the South 218 office. BETHANY HRUSKA was named mortgage/consumer loan officer for the bank's Charles City location. She joined the bank in 2011 as a customer service representative. Hruska recently completed the Iowa Bankers Consumer Credit School in Ankeny.

NICK WINTER joined State Bank as assistant commercial/ag loan officer in the New Hampton office. He graduated from Iowa State University in 2014 with a degree in ag business and economics and recently was a grain merchandiser for Ag Processing. 

LUCINDA LEAR received professional accreditation as a royal conservatory of music, certified teacher piano specialist in three levels of teaching: elementary, intermediate and advanced. She is a member of the Royal Conservatory College of Examiners and an adjunct instructor in music, piano and voice at Hawkeye Community College, and owner/operator of Lear Music Studio in Waterloo.

LORI LANDSGARD joined Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare as a physician recruiter. She has a degree from the University of Iowa.

KRIS HAM was promoted to vice president, credit officer for TCF Equipment Finance where she assumes the management role for the health care underwriting team. Ham is a graduate of UNI with a bachelor's degree in finance. She has been with TCF since 2006 and recently served as assistant vice president, credit officer.

SHEILA STEFFEN, city clerk of Dunkerton, was awarded the designation Iowa certified municipal clerk from the Iowa Municipal Finance Officers Association for achieving high educational, experience and service requirements.
