WATERLOO | Jeff Kennedy, a staff meteorologist at KWWL-TV in Waterloo for 32 years, is moving on.

"It’s been an amazing career, and I’ve been blessed to work with a lot of incredible people.” Kennedy said in a prepared statement.

The release did not specify Kennedy's future plans.

"It’s been a pleasure to be a part of such an incredible team, but I’m looking forward to what is coming next, and happy to have my family by my side for it."

"Jeff will be greatly missed," said Dan Schillinger, KWWL news director. "He’s the longest-serving meteorologist in eastern Iowa. He’s incredibly skilled and has a real rapport with viewers. It’s been a pleasure for me to have worked with him."

Kennedy’s last day will be Dec. 31.

A search for a new meteorologist has already begun. KWWL has three other staff meteorologists.

Is Jeff's last day really December 31st ? ? ? Talk about giving your employer advance notice ! !
I agree with "helloall". The Ron/Liz and Craig/Jeff Team were the best. On our rare occasions 'back home', I usually click to KWWL and am always disappointed in the "bozo's" they have on there (except for Ron). They act like this is their FIRST news job fresh out of college ! ! ! GOOD LUCK, JEFF and best wishes.

Always loved watching him through the years. My 80 year old mom just brought up the subject as to why he was not given the position that Schnack as she wished Jeff would have gotten it with his engaging personality. So sad to see you leave! Good luck with your future plans.

if you have watched channel 7 lately, it's probably because he didn't want it and wanted to get out of this station ASAP. Only reason lots of us have stuck around this long is Ron Steele and when he leaves so will most of us.

Best of luck Jeff and thanks for your 32 years. I remember when it was Jeff and Craig, man those were the days. with Ron and Liz Mathis, those were the good days of actual reporting.

I have always wandered why Jeff was not promoted to the spot Schnack. Is in? This is KWWL's loss as well as Waterloo's!

I have always felt that Jeff was the best meteorologist in Northeast Iowa. He always has a smile, always knows what he's talking about and shows true concern for the public. It will be difficult to lose him, but I wish him the best. Congratulations, Jeff, on 22 wonderful years. You have served us well and we will miss you.
