WAVERLY — The Waverly Chamber of Commerce visited three Waverly businesses to present Progress Awards in November.
Friends of the Family received a Progress Award to recognize their new branding, including a new name, logo and website. The organization has also welcomed a new director of development, Tara Tann.
A Progress Award went to the Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness Center for their new assistant director for group fitness and personal training, Leslie Lyons. She has worked in health care for more than 20 years, with the last 14 in radiology at the Waverly Health Center. Lyons became a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor in 2013.
Calease Chiropractic Center also got a Progress Award to welcome a new provider, Eric Brocka. He joined Calease Chiropractic on May 15.
WAVERLY — Pork producers may attend either of two workshops focusing on advanced swine reproductive management topics, scheduled for mid-December in Waverly and Le Mars.
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Iowa Pork Industry Center and Iowa Pork Producers Association are sponsoring the seminars, set for Dec. 12 and Dec. 13, that feature Purdue University reproductive specialist Kara Stewart.
Cost is $30, with $10 for each additional person from the same entity.
