Mississippi River

-- From Pool 9 in extreme Northeast Iowa to Pool 13 in the southeast corner of the state, the mighty Mississippi is an angling heaven for everything from northern pike and walleye to catfish, largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. The panfish population is also strong with crappies, bluegills and an exploding yellow perch population showing the result of backwater habitat and restoration projects up and down the river.
